The village of Oia
is divided in three different parts or with other words in 3 small villages: Finikia,
Tholos and Chora, all of these settlements in recent years
have been united as one and have create a larger village known us Oia.
Historical, the Oia (Ia) settlement was a big naval force in the Cyclades
region, having many captains and
many vessels into the Aegean sea, was purely a major trading power.
As the visitor is walking into Oia
will be notice many mansions & masterhouses, into the
village of Chora well known as main part of Oia was lived all the
captains in these years the Captains was the richest people on the land, on
the other hand the settlement of Finikia was living the servant people & the workers
of the Captains, because of all these the visitors it's going
notice that the village of Finikia is almost cut off from the village
of Chora or if you like better Oia (Ia).
Today these three villages are wellknown as the of Settlement Oia (Ia). |

The village
of Oia is build high above of the Caldera rim. Oia is renowned fot it's
beauty and is a picturesqueness settlement.
One nice attraction in Santorini with out any doubt the the
traditional settlement of Oia (Ia) with it's traditional
houses at the northwest side of Santorini island,

cut off from all the others regions of Santorini.

all this complex of houses and cave houses on the step of the cliffs in
Oia (Ia), all the buildings are mixed into the cliffs of Oia, the access
to each house is join from cobblestones alleyways which the Greeks called them
Calderimia.
